Making A Difference
Every year, our support helps schools across Cumbria give children access to outdoor adventures they might never otherwise experience. From activity days to arts, crafts and drama sessions, our funding helps young minds grow in confidence, build new skills and discover the benefits of being in nature. Take a look below at some of the schools we’re proud to support.
Grange C of E
Primary School
Our support of Grange C of E Primary School began in 2010 when we helped the school set up a visit to the fantastic Castle Head Outdoor Activity Centre for every pupil in the school.
Since then, our yearly contributions have helped 100s of children from the school attend the centre and learn valuable skills that they otherwise wouldn’t have had access to. Each year one of our Trustees attends the school to present them with their funds in order to continue this outdoor education. It is incredible to hear from the children first hand what the experience gives to them and see the benefits of nature that are brought about by our donations.
In addition to the adventure days spent at Castle Head, our funds have helped the school with regular arts and crafts and drama sessions for the children.
Allithwaite CE
School
Our contribution to Allithwaite CE School allows the children to attend activity days at a local outdoor centre on a regular basis. Allowing children the chance to explore these adventures can help them improve confidence, team building skills and experience activities they wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to experience.
With ongoing support, the school is able to fund adventures that help the children make memories and learn skills that are exclusive to the environment around them. These memories often lead to the development of hobbies and careers that otherwise may not have occured to the children, and help a future generation understand the benefits of being in nature.
